HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 626ORDINANCE NO. 626 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 10.36.010 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO ESTABLISHING NEW SPEED ZONES. WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code allows local jurisdictions to establish speed zones on local streets by use of a Traffic Engineering Speed Study; and WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering Speed Studies, as required, have been conducted and the need for new speed zones has been determined. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert finds that all of the recitations are true and correct and does constitute the findings and consideration of the Council in this case. FURTHER: (1) Section 10.36.010 of the Code of the City of Palm Desert, California, is hereby amended to read as follows: "10.36.010 Established. The following speed zone is established as follows: Miles Per Hour 45 Park View Drive from Highway 111 to Monterey Avenue." (2) The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this ordinance in the Desert Post, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Palm Desert, California, and shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption. GILL AN, CITY., ERK CITY OF PALM DESERT, CA ORNIA RESCINDED BY ORDINANCE #.--=------ ------- DATED: o }a3. 0..�--.-------- .�_ — RESOLUTION NUMBER 96-20 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A SPEED LIMIT ON PARKVIEW DRIVE. The City Council of the City of Rancho Mirage does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Parkview Drive is a street with joint jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, the City of Palm Desert has completed an "Engineering and Traffic Study for Park View Drive between Highway ill and Monterey Avenue" in accordance with the requirements of the California Vehicle Code; and WHEREAS, said study recommends a speed limit of 45 miles per hour. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rancho Mirage, California, that a speed limit of 45 miles per hour shall be established on Parkview Drive. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Mirage shall certify to the passage hereof and cause this Resolution to be entered into the minutes of the City Council meeting.
