AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ITS
CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE.
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed its Conflict of Interest Code
pursuant to Government Code section 87306.5 and finds that some
revisions of the Code's appendices are necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert,
California, DOES ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. That Appendices "A" and "B" of the Conflict
of Interest Code adopted by Section 2.56.010 of the Municipal
Code be amended to read in the manner provided by Exhibits "1"
and 112" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this
reference.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify as to the passage
and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published once in the Palm Desert Post, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published, and circulated within the City
of Palm Desert, and the same shall be in force and effect thirty
(30) days after its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED thisl4th day of Januarv, 1993,
by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, by
the following vote, to wit:

*Consultants shall be included in the list of designated
employees and shall disclose pursuant to the broadest disclosure
category in the code subject to the following limitation:
The City Manager may determine in writing that a particular
consultant, although a "designated position," is hired to perform
a range of duties that is limited in scope and thus is not
required to fully comply with the disclosure requirements
described in this section. Such written determination shall
include a description of the consultant's duties and, based upon

that description, a statement of the extent of disclosure
requirements. The City Manager's determination is a public
record and shall be retained for public inspection in the same
manner and location as this conflict of interest code.
NOTE: The following elected and appointed positions are not
designated within this Code because individuals occupying
such positions must file disclosure statements annually with
the Fair Political Practices Commission pursuant to Article
2 of Chapter 7 of Title 9 of the Government Code:
