HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 815ORDINANCE NO. 815 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING ORDINANCE NO. 663 AND AMENDING SECTION 10.36.010 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES. WHEREAS, the California Vehicle Code allows local jurisdictions to establish speed zones on local streets by an Engineering and Traffic Study; and WHEREAS, an Engineering and Traffic Study, as required, has been conducted and the need for a new speed zone has been determined; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palm Desert finds that all of the recitations are true and correct and does constitute the findings and consideration of the Council in this case. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that Ordinance No. 663 is rescinded and Ordinance No. 815 is adopted. FURTHER: (1) Section 10.36.010 of the Code of the City of Palm Desert, California, is hereby amended to read as follows: 1110,36.010 Established. The following speed zone is established as follows: Miles Per Hour Roadway Seament 35 Magnesia Falls Drive from Portola Avenue to Deep Canyon Road (2) The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this ordinance in the Desert Post, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Palm Desert, California, and shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, on this26th day of September , 1996, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: BENSON, CRITES, KELLY, SNYDER NOES: NONE ABSENT: SPIEGEL ABSTAIN: NONE ATTEST: SHEILA R.
