REQUEST: Approval for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Services

Recommendation:
By Minute Motion: Approve the use of the following OEM vendors for fiscal year
04-05: 1) Palm Springs Motors; 2) Unicars Honda; 3) Crystal Chrysler; 4) Turf
Star; 5) Ground Works; 6) Kelly Equipment; 7) Johnson Power systems; 8)
R.D.O. Equipment; and 9) GCS Western Power & Equipment.
Discussion:
The City utilizes a variety of OEM vendors for equipment or vehicle repair, and maintenance or
parts that are not available from aftermarket sources. These vendors generally represent a sole
source for a particular manufacturer in our immediate area and should be considered exempt
from any competitive bidding under the City's purchasing policies and procedures.
The attached OEM vendor list provides a brief description of the services provide.
Public Works staff recommends the approval of these vendors for services to the City.
