Recommendation:

1. Ratify Change Order No. 2 to Contract No. C19250 with
David Evans and Associates, in the amount of $6,270.00
Discussion:
On July 19, 2001, City Council approved Contract No. C19250, between David
Evans and Associates and the City of Palm Desert, for design engineering
relating to the Corporation Yard Expansion, in the amount of $187,336.00 plus
contingency. On May 8, 2003, City Council approved Change Order No. 1, in the
amount of $62,127.00, to the contract. The contract for the Corporation Yard
Expansion has been modified to include the following plans:
• Carport Revision (Carports were revised to a cantilevered
design instead of a four -post design)
• PM-10 Plan
• Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan

• Additional Project Management
As the final phase of the design is being completed, additional costs have arisen
from this required and additional scope of work. These additional costs have
increased David Evans and Associates' expense by $6,270.00. Funds are
available for this change order in account number 231-4330-413-4001.
Therefore, staff recommends that City Council by minute motion, ratify Change
Order No. 2 to Contract No. C19250, with David Evans and Associates, in the
amount of $6,270.00.

The original proposal for the Corporation Yard Expansion has been modified to include the
following plans:
