NOTICE OF COMPLETION
Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, that the City Council authorize:
1. Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. C-21560 with Cora
Constructors in the amount of $1,969.16 for: the purchase and
installation of a 6" swing check valve; and removal of an unmarked
utility conflicting with the installation of 12" waterline;
2. Mayor to execute same;
3. Director of Finance to transfer the $1,969.16 from contingency to
the base. (Funds are available in Account No. 400-4384-433-4001);
4, City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project.

Executive Summary:
Acceptance of this staff recommendation will ratify field -approved changes, and will
authorize minor increases to the scope of the contract for completion of the well site
improvements at Fred Waring and San Pasqual Avenue.
Discussion:
On January 22, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to Cora Constructors for the
construction of well site improvements to be completed by the City on behalf of CVWD,
as was agreed to by both parties during the design stages of the Fred Waring Drive
Widening Project. Construction is complete and satisfactory. However, during
construction, two obstacles threatened the timely completion of the work: the installation
of a 6" swing check valve, and a utility conflicting with the installation of a 12" waterline.
These changes to the contractor's scope of work were approved in the field in order to
ensure the timely completion of the project. Approval of the staff recommendation
ratifies the field -approved changes.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for
the subject project.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:
1. That the interest or estate stated in paragraph 3 herein in the real property herein described is SOLELY
OWNED by the CITY OF PALM DESERT, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, a political subdivision of the State
of California, and whose address is 73-510 FRED WARING DRIVE, PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA.
2. That the full name and address of the owner of said interest or estate is set forth in the preceding
