Engineering Manager APPLICANT: N A I Consulting, Inc. 68-955 Adelina Road Cathedral City, California 92234 DATE: August 25, 2005 CONTENTS: Change Order No. 1 Recommendation: By Minute Motion approve Change Order No. 1 to Contract No. C23060C in the amount of $9,600.00 with N A I Consulting, Inc. for supplemental engineering staff. Discussion: On September 23, 2004, City Council approved contract No. C23060C with NAI Consulting, Inc. for supplemental engineering staff augmentation during an internal staff shortage. During this time NAI Consulting, Inc. acted in the capacity of Project Manager for several Public Works Department projects. The Public Works Department is now fully staffed and managing their projects internally. During the transition, NAI Consulting incurred fifteen hours of work beyond the original scope of their contract, resulting in an additional expenditure of $2,622.50. Funds are available in the Public Works professional services account 110-4300- 413-3010. NAI Consulting also acts as project manager on several of the City's Federal Projects. Two of these projects, the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program (CMAQ) and the Surface Transportation Program -Rehab (STP-Rehab) are coming to a close and staff recommends that NAI Consulting, Inc., complete Staff Report Page 2 of 2 August 25, 2005 these projects, insuring that all Federal requirements are met and completed in a timely manner. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council by minute motion, approve Change Order No. 1 to Contract C23060C for NAI Consulting, Inc., in the total amount not to exceed $9,600.00 for the services beyond the original scope of work and for projects yet to be completed.
