Discussion: On May 26, 2005 staff sent out request for proposals for fertilizer supplies used in the maintenance of City landscapes and parks maintenance. A list of regularly used fertilizers and soil amendments was included in the request for proposal. The following companies returned this proposal: Golf Ventures West of Bermuda Dunes, CA. $ 23,692.00 Foster and Gardner of Coachella, CA. $ 25,768.90 High Tec Irrigation of Palm Desert, CA. $ 26,034.00 Funds for these purchases are available in approved landscape and lighting district accounts and account numbers 110-4610-453-2190, 110-4611-453-3320, 110-4611-453-3370, and 110- 4611-453-3371. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council approve the purchase of fertilizer supplies from Golf Ventures West of Bermuda Dunes, CA for fiscal year 2005/2006. Submitte H. A contract will be awarded for a period of one year with two possible one-year extensions. The following is a list of items we may purchase. In actual practice, our orders vary considerably from this sample. However in order to establish a basis on which to evaluate proposals, we have created this sample list. The bid request for fertilizer supplies should be completed and returned to the City Clerk no later than 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2005. Please attempt to complete pricing for all items listed, so an accurate price comparison can be made. Please give as much detail as possible so that we can properly evaluate each bid. The City of Palm Desert reserves the right to reject any or all bids to waive any irregularities, to accept any bid or portion thereof and to take all bids under advisement for a period of sixty (60) days.
