Discussion: During the construction of the soundwall around the perimeter of Hidden Palms, a segment of PVC pipe was unearthed. The pipe was assumed to have been discarded irrigation pipe by a previous contractor. The pipe was, in fact, a drain line from an atrium at one of the houses within Hidden Palms. Subsequent rainstorms filled the atrium and caused flooding to the house. The tenant contacted the property management company who called a plumber. The plumber tracked the path of the drain which terminated at the newly constructed soundwall. Because the drain line was not on the plans, and it was unknown to everyone, including the property owner, Public Works agreed to pay for the plumbing bill, but required the wall contractor to reconnect the drain line to its original termination point. Therefore, please authorize payment of $1,701.25 to Preferred Plumbing for the emergency plumbing work. Funds are available in account 400-4399-433-4001. Submi to 0: "M .4 Mark Green\,lood, P.E.
