Executive Summary: Palm Desert Middle School has again this year requested use of the amphitheater for its eighth grade graduation ceremony and is requesting that facility use and maintenance worker fees be waived. Background: Each year Palm Desert Middle school holds its graduation ceremonies on the amphitheater stage at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park. In order to adequately police the area and provide maintenance services, in past years the City has required that a Maintenance Worker has been assigned to work this event. Since the graduation is held for the benefit and pleasure of Palm Desert residents, event planners are requesting that the required fees for a Maintenance Worker ($40.00 an hour for three hours) be waived.
