HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1092 Repeal PDMC 2.72 Dissolving the Technology CommitteeORDINANCE NO. 1092 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, REPEALING CHAPTER 2.72 (RESCINDING ORDINANCE NOS. 935 AND 1010) OF THE PALM DESERT MUNICIPAL CODE AND DISSOLVING THE TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE WHEREAS, the City Council established the Technology Committee on February 24, 2000, with adoption of Ordinance No. 935, for the purpose of advising the City Council on technological issues in the community; and WHEREAS, the Committee's success warranted a membership increase to seven (7) members, which was effected by the adoption of Ordinance No. 1010 on February 28, 2002; and WHEREAS, over the past five years, the Technology Committee has reviewed issues of importance within its purview and provided timely advice to the City Council thereon; and WHEREAS, due to the effectiveness of the Technology Committee, its mission has been accomplished at this time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, does hereby determine that it is in the public interest that the Technology Committee be dissolved at this time, as follows: Section 1. That Chapter 2.72 of the Palm Desert Municipal Code is hereby repealed in its entirety. Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Palm Desert, California, is hereby directed to publish this ordinance in the Desert Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the County of Riverside and circulated in the City of Palm Desert, and shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its adoption.
