Subject: REQUEST FOR INCREASE IN VISITOR CENTER CASH REGISTER
FUND
Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, approve a $100.00 increase in the Visitor Center cash register fund
as managed by the Visitor Center Manager.
Summary:
The Palm Desert Visitor Center has been operating its point of sale/cash register
system with a base amount of $200.00 which provides for making change during sales
transactions. With the expansion of the Visitor Center and its retail function, sales
activity has experienced a significant amount of growth. This growth has generated the
need for additional base funds in the register to allow for making adequate change and
eliminating any shortages in change. The increase of this fund by $100.00 will provide
a $300.00 register balance and allow for adequate coverage of any sales transactions
at the Visitor Center.
