By Minute Motion:
1. Move contingency for Contract No. C23540 in the amount of
$4,180.00 to base amount;
2. Approve Change Order #1 with Andy's Tree Service and
Gardening (Palm Desert, CA) in the amount of $4,180.00 for the
City Wide Palm Tree Pruning Project (Project 931-05).
Discussion:
On April 14, 2005, City Council awarded Contract No. C23540 to Andy's Tree Service
and Gardening for the City Wide Palm Tree Pruning Program, in the amount of
$44,600.00.
During the execution of this contract, staff identified two hundred and twenty (220) trees
that required pruning that had not been listed on the original pruning list. The exclusion
of these trees from the pruning list was the result of staff oversight. The unit cost per
tree is $19.00.
Funds are currently available in the landscape accounts 110-4610-453-3320 and 110-
4611-453-3370.

Therefore, staff recommends that City Council approve Change Order #1 to Contract
No. C23540 for $4,180.00.
