User's Group (HUG) Conference, Lake Buena Vista, FL — June 5-9, 2006. Users' Group (HUG) Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, June 5-9, 2006, for one (1) additional Building and Safety Department staff person. The funding for this request is currently available in Account No. 110-4420-422-3120 Conf/SeminarsMorkshops. Executive Summary: This national conference will bring over 1200 experienced users of the SunGard H.T.E. software applications. The conference will provide educational workshops, demonstrate any new changes to SunGard software, make major product announcements, and discuss future product enhancements. In addition, users from other jurisdictions get together to discuss and share ideas on how to best use the software and meet with the SunGard H.T.E. representatives on product improvements. The Building and Safety Department is currently using software from SunGard H.T.E. for the building permit, plan review, code compliance, and land management applications. It is advantageous to the Department to have the following staff in attendance: The Building and Safety Technician is responsible for the daily update and data input into the H.T.E. land management system, which is the source for all other H.T.E. applications. In addition, this would be valuable training for this staff person who is a new user of H.T.E. The Code Compliance Technician has been responsible for creating changes to the code module, which have been implemented in the City of Palm Desert and released to users nationwide. Therefore, it would be beneficial for this staff person to learn new information regarding the code module and continue to share information with other national users.
