Executive Summary: Various sources are used to assist staff in facilitating thorough analyses and research of bills of interest to Palm Desert that are before the Califomia Legislature and United States Congress. StateNet, located in Sacramento, Califomia, is recommended by Joe A. Gonsalves & Sons as being the most effective company to provide this service. Background: The City of Palm Desert endeavors to remain current in obtaining information to analyze pending legislation on both the State and national level. StateNet, located in Sacramento, Califomia, provides a legislative and regulatory reporting service, as well as information and intelligence gathering, on these types of issues throughout the 50 states. This service has provided worthwhile information in the past year and has become a vital tool in analyzing pending legislation.
