Discussion: On June 9, 2006 staff sent out a request for proposals for fertilizer supplies used in the maintenance of City landscapes and parks maintenance. A list of regularly used fertilizers and soil amendments was included in the request for proposal. The following companies returned a proposal: John Deere, Inc. of Palm Desert, CA Imperial Sprinkler Company, Inc. of Indio, CA Helena Chemical Company of Bermuda Dunes, CA High Tech Irrigation of Palm Desert, CA Kalmia Sales of Murrieta, CA Lesco of Cleveland, OH $ 17,226.02 (non -responsive) $ 21,414.06 (non -responsive) $ 22,832.00 (non -responsive) $ 25,607.60 $ 28,354.36 $ 46,267.20 High Tech Irrigation, Inc. was the only company that provided prices for all the specified items in the bid. The other companies either did not provide prices of some items or offered substitutions for certain products, thereby rendering their bids non -responsive. High Tech Irrigation, Inc, provided prices for all products as listed.
