APPROVED MINUTES
TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2006 - 6:00 P.M.
ADMINISTRATIVE CONFERENCE ROOM
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Elliott Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

III. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. APPROVAL OF THE APRIL 4, 2006, MEETING MINUTES
Member Christina Sun moved to approve the April 4, 2006, meeting minutes
as presented. Motion was seconded by Member Elle Wohlmuth and carried by a
unanimous vote.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. DISCUSSION RELATIVE TO JUNE, JULY, AND AUGUST COMMITTEE
MEETING DATES
Due to the California State Primary Election being held on the next
regularly scheduled Youth Committee meeting date, the next meeting of
the Youth Committee, which will be the Joint City Council/Youth
Committee meeting, will be scheduled for May 30, 2006. The Committee
will begin its meeting at 5 p.m. with the Council joining at 6 p.m. for dinner
and the joint session. At that meeting, the Committee will discuss the
possibility of a July brainstorming meeting.

V. CONTINUED BUSINESS
A. ASSIGNMENT OF TOPICS FOR JOINT CITY COUNCIL/YOUTH
COMMITTEE MEETING
The following assignments were made with regard to presentations at the
Joint City Council/Youth Committee meeting:
Member Raine Armstrong will discuss sidewalk on Edgehill Drive;
Member Samantha Cortese will review last year's holiday tree lighting;
Chair Smith will give a presentation on his experience at the National
League of Cities Congress of Cities Conference in Charlotte, North
Carolina; Member Ryan Sheehy will review activities held at Public Safety
Day; Member Sun will discuss potential new Committee projects; Vice -
Chair Nick Talboys will give a presentation regarding the My Space
website; Member Wohlmuth will review new driver regulations; and
Member Jonny Rohrbaugh will review the membership application
process and new member experience.
Ms. Scully reminded the Committee that attire for the Joint Meeting is
Committee shirts, long pants for male Committee members, and skirts or
long pants for female Committee members. Flip-flops and cell phones
are prohibited.
B. DINNER SELECTION
The Committee requested that dinner for the Joint Meeting be ordered
from Macaroni Grill.
VI. OLD BUSINESS
A. PANCAKE BREAKFAST REPORT FROM POLICE AND FIRE
DEPARTMENTS
Upon a motion by Member Cortese, the Committee will not sponsor the
2007 Public Safety Event scheduled to be held on April 21 but will offer to volunteer
to assist in other activities or it may decide over the summer to man a booth or
activity. Motion was seconded by Member Sun Motion carried by a unanimous
vote.
B. SIGN-UPS FOR CITY COUNCIL ATTENDANCE
Members Armstrong and Rohrbaugh will attend the May 11, 2006, City
Council meeting.

VII. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
A. CITY COUNCIL ISSUES
Member Rohrbaugh reported on actions taken at the April 13, 2006, City
Council meeting.
VIII. REPORTS AND REMARKS
A. COMMITTEE MEMBERS
None
B. STAFF
Ms. Scully advised that she would be contacting Carl Karcher to set up a
photo op to thank him for his contributions to the success of the Pancake
Breakfast. She will notify members once that has taken place so that
they can be included in the photograph.
Ms. Scully distributed Scholarship forms from Rotary International.
IX. ADJOURNMENT
Upon a motion by Member Sheehy the Committee adjourned at 6:45 p.m. to
the meeting of May 30, 2006, at 5:00 p.m. Motioj seconded by Member Rohrbaugh and
was carried by a unanimous vote.
