Funds are available in Account No. 400-4800-454-3875. Discussion: Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the long-term tenant of "The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Center" at 73-088 Highway 111. This property was formerly occupied by Radioactive. The property fronts on Highway 111 and has convenient access to Monterey Avenue via the Alessandro Alley. The FEP guidelines allow for standard sized lots (60-foot frontage, 12,000 square feet) to receive consideration for half the cost of the improvements to a maximum of $40,000. Larger properties are eligible for additional funds with City Council approval, which is applicable to this property. The property's total frontage is 120 lineal feet and it is approximately 20,800 square in area. The size of this property makes it eligible for FEP consideration funds to a maximum of $100,000 subject to City Council approval. Staff Report Approval of FEP Consideration Funds to Enterprise Rent-A-Car Page 2 of 2 March 23, 2006 Staff for severai years has encouraged the former tenants and owner to undertake major remodeling of this blighted property without previous success. Staff has assisted Enterprise Rent-A-Car to develop this property, which is ideal for their uses. The buildings on this property are decrepit and should be demolished. The projected cost to complete the improvements as approved by the Architectural Review Committee on February 28, 2006 is $1,060,000. This project is significantly greater in scope than most FEP projects and will replace the existing buildings with new improvements. Staff presented the project to the Retail Committee on November 8, 2005, for its review and direction. The Retail Committee took into consideration the location, size, and scope of the proposed project. The Retail Committee felt that this project merited FEP consideration funds of $100,000. Staff concurs with the Retail Committee and recommends funding in the amount of $100,000 from the FaCade Enhancement Program.
