Background: The Palm Desert Police Department currently has (4) city owned police radar units in our inventory that are damaged, broken, or outdated. Therefore, staff is requesting that council authorize staff to dispose of the equipment as follows: 1) Items 1-4 are considered waste and shall be disposed of appropriately. Staff recommends that the City Council declare the equipment as surplus property and authorize staff to dispose of the equipment appropriately.
