Staff Report
Declaration of Surplus Property and Disposal Authorization
October 27, 2006
Lieutenant Frank Taylor, ACOP Palm Desert Police Department
Contents: Exhibit "A" — Equipment Listing of assets for disposal
Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, declare the items listed on the attached exhibit "A" as surplus property and
authorize disposal.
Background:
The Palm Desert Police Department currently has (4) city owned police radar units in our
inventory that are damaged, broken, or outdated. Therefore, staff is requesting that council
authorize staff to dispose of the equipment as follows:
1) Items 1-4 are considered waste and shall be disposed of appropriately.
Staff recommends that the City Council declare the equipment as surplus property and authorize
staff to dispose of the equipment appropriately.
