RENDERING OF PROPOSED ARTWORK AND DESCRIPTION Recommendation: By Minute Motion: 1) Approve William Ware's design as the public art component for the Brava Development Group LLC project at 10-500 Via Fortuna, Palm Desert, California; 2) Appropriate $45,000 for future reimbursement, as part of the Art in Public Places fee component for this project. Funds are available in account number 436-0000-312-2700. Executive Summary: The Art in Public Places Commission unanimously approved the design by William Ware for the public art component for the Brava Development Group project at its meeting of October 18, 2006. The project consists of one five-foot tall bronze woman holding a rose in one hand and a dove in the other. The sculpture will be installed on a base of stone and concrete facing south on Country Club Drive. Discussion: Mr. Ware is a very well known and respected Palm Desert artist. He has created several public art sculptures for the City of Palm Desert from the "Desert Aviary" located at Montecito Homes to the desert landscape mural located in the Palm Desert City Council Chamber.
