REQUEST: Authorize City Clerk to file Notice of Completion for the
Corporation Yard Expansion (Project 715-00)

Recommendation:
By minute motion, authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of
Completion for Contract No. 19250A with WDL Construction for the
Corporation Yard Expansion (Project 715-00).
Discussion:
On June 23, 2005, City Council approved Contract No. C19250A with WDL
Construction in an amount of $5,211,904.00 for the Corporation Yard Expansion
Project. The Council also approved a 10% contingency ($521,190.40). The
Notice to Proceed for construction of the Corporation Yard Expansion Project
was issued to WDL Construction in August 2005. On July 13, 2006 Council
approved Change Order No. 1, in an amount not to exceed $120,602.00.
The project is now complete. City staff has inspected the work performed by
WDL Construction, and has found said work to be completed in accordance with
the contract requirements. A Certificate of Occupancy was issued by the
Department of Building and Safety on September 22, 2006.

Therefore, staff recommends that City Council authorize the City Clerk to file the
Notice of Completion for Contract No. 19250A with WDL Construction for the
Corporation Yard Expansion.

1. That the interest or estate stated in paragraph 3 herein in the real property herein described is
OWNED by the CITY OF PALM DESERT, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, a political subdivision of the State
of California, and whose address is 73-510 FRED WARING DRIVE, PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA 92260.
2. That the full name and address of the owner of said interest or estate is set forth in the preceding
paragraph.
3. That the nature of the title of the stated owner, as set forth in paragraph 1, is: Fee.
