Dear Mayor Ferguson and Council Members
RSVP is preparing for the annual celebration and recognition of the many seniors who donate
their time and talents throughout the Coachella Valley. 1 am pleased to report that the RSVP
program is growing and more senior volunteers than ever are generously sharing their time and
experience with the community. RSVP's efforts to recruit new volunteers yielded over 329 new
members last year, bringing the total number of active volunteers to 1,508!
We want to invite the City of Palm Desert to partner with us in honoring the Palm Desert
residents who participate as volunteers at the November 2, 2006 recognition luncheon.
Last year, 286 RSVP volunteers from Palm Desert supported 24 agencies in Palm Desert with
16,590 hours of service. This value in your city is over $291.000 in saved navroll dollars. Of the
Palm Desert residents who participate in the RSVP program, 88 have donated over 100 hours and
are invited to be our guest at the recognition luncheon. We want the City of Palm Desert to
partner with us to provide this much deserved recognition celebration in the amount of $2,200
We are very proud of the RSVP program and the volunteers who participate. We hope you will
join us in saying thank you. On behalf of all the senior volunteers, I look forward to hearing from
you soon. If you have any questions please call Fran Ferguson, RSVP Director at760/341-0401.
S' cerely,
