Box 905 Coachella, California 92236 DATE: April 12, 2007 CONTENTS: Notice of Completion Coachella Valley Water District Letter of Acceptance Berg & Associates Verification of Completion Vicinity Map Recommendation: That the City Council, by minute motion, authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for Contract No. C25570 the Phase I Sewer Improvements for Section 29 Assessment District 2004-02. Discussion: On October 11, 2006, the City Council awarded a construction contract for the Phase I Sewer Improvements to Jones Bros Construction Company of Coachella, California, in the amount of $634,220. Change Order No. 1 to the contract was approved on January 11, 2007, in the amount of $63,407.91. This project was "carved out" of the larger project limits to accommodate timing issues, and put under a separate contract. Due to the scope of the project, Berg & Associates, Inc. was contracted to perform the construction management, and provide inspection services in addition to the inspection provided by the Public Works Department. Both inspection providers have found said work to be complete and in accordance with the contract requirements for the Phase I Sewer Improvements. The Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) has inspected the work performed by the contractor and recognized the project to be acceptable and approved for service as of January 5, 2007. The permit issued by CVWD that encompasses this work covers the entire project; therefore a 100% completion under the permit will not be available until the entire Assessment District improvements have been completed. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council, by minute motion, authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project.
