REQUEST: APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT
(CONTRACT NO. C25450) FOR FURINO/GREENE CREATIVE,
INC., (FORMERLY CREATIVE I GROUP, INC) IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $240,000.

Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, approve Amendment No. 1 to Agreement (Contract No.
C25450) between the City of Palm Desert and Furino/Greene Creative, Inc.,
extending the contract from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008, in an
amount not to exceed $240,000.
Funds are available in Account No. 271-4491-464-3215.
Executive Summary:
Approval of the recommendation will allow the continuation of work by Furino/Greene
Creative, Inc., (formerly Creative i Group, Inc.) for services and materials in the advertising
and promotion of the El Paseo Business Improvement District for one year. As approved
by City Council, the terms of the agreement include the ability to extend the contract for up
to three years. This would be the second year of the contract.
Denial of the recommendation will require a Request for Qualifications and the negotiations
for an advertising agency to perform the services for the El Paseo Business Improvement
District.
Discussion:
The City of Palm Desert entered into an agreement with Creative i Group, Inc., for services
and materials in the advertising and promotion of the El Paseo Business Improvement
District from July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007. Since that time Creative i Group, Inc.,

has changed their company name to Furino/Greene Creative, Inc. All partners have
remained the same.
On June 21, 2007, the El Paseo Business Improvement District's Board of Directors
recommended to the City Council a one-year extension of the agreement at the same fees
as the previous year of $3,500 per month retainer.
The remaining monies for the contract are for placement and production of media and
events purchased for the Business Improvement District and approved by the Board of
Directors. This number is based on historical collections from the Business District.
Staff recommends amending Contract No. C25450.
