By minute motion, declare the item on the attached sheet ass p
disposal as proposed.
Discussion:
The item on the attached sheet, "the boot", has been at the maintenance facility for more
than thirteen years. This "boot" is still useful and in good shape. Recently, Mrs.
Margarita Roque, who owns a daycare facility in Coachella, inquired about the "boot" and
asked if the City wanted to get rid of this item. Staff discussed this item during the staff
meeting on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, and the City Manager requested that we follow
procedure for Council approval to declare this item as surplus and approve the item to be
donated to the daycare in Coachella.
Maintenance staff will inspect "the boot" inside and out and eliminate any hazards before it
leaves the maintenance facility. Mrs. Margarita Roque has a way of transporting this item
to her place of business and she will sign a liability waiver form before this item leaves the
maintenance facility.
Therefore, staff recommends that, by minute motion, City Council declare this item, "the
boot," as surplus property and authorize the item to be donated to Mrs. Margarita Roque of
Roque -Cardenas Family Daycare, 84-505 Calle Catron, Coachella CA 92236, business
license No. 334809760.
