Dear Mr. Garcia:
JN 10-104249.001
RBF is submitting this additional work request to perform design tasks related to Landscape,
Irrigation, and Slope Pavement for the northwest and northeast quadrant of the I-10/ Monterey
Avenue Interchange.
For the work related to the processing of the PSBE for the project, RBF has identified the
following tasks associated with the change in our original scope of work. The items of note are:
Task Item 4: Landscauina Desian
The County of Riverside is currently in the process of completing a landscape project
that will be impacted by the proposed interchange modifications in the north-east
quadrant of the Monterey Avenue / I-10 Interchange. The current landscape project
has been approved by Caltrans and is in the bidding / advertisement phase by the
County of Riverside. It has been agreed upon by the City and County to include this
additional work to the design scope of the Monterey Interchange modification project.
The landscape improvements will need to conform the City of Palm Desert standards,
the California Department of Transportation standards, and Coachella Water District
standards. Also, the landscape design will need to conform to the Gateway to the
Desert Communities Regional Design Guidelines and Highway Art Program prepared
by Nancy Palmer dated June 30, 1998 for the County of Riverside, The City of Palm
Desert, the City of Cathedral City and the City of Indio. The Coachella Valley
Association of Govemments sponsored this report. In addition, the north interchange
landscaping should compliment the south interchange landscaping shown on the
County of Riverside {nterstate 10-Monterey Avenue and Washington Boulevard
