EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION -MONTH OF APRIL, 2007
Attached is a list of employees who will be recognized at the City Council meeting on May
10. A letter has been sent to each recipient congratulating them and requesting their
attendance at the Council meeting.
Each one will be recognized for their achievement and a gift card will be awarded to them.

Ahmad Karimi Donna Gomez Service Above and Beyond and
Improved City Image for assisting
an out-of-town couple, on a Saturday,
who were looking for the Chamber so
that they could acquire visitor
information. The Chamber was not
open on Saturday, and Mr. Karimi
suggested they visit the Visitor
Information Center. He drove to the
Center and they followed in their
vehicle. The couple expressed to VIC
staff their sincere appreciation for the
personal service given by Ahmad.
Jay Niemczak Janis Steele
Meritorious Service, Above and
Beyond. While volunteering his
assistance during the Golf Cart Parade
on Sunday, January 14, 2007, a water
coupler broke at the ball field during a
baseball tournament that took place
that same day. Mr. Niemczak
responded immediately, shut the water
off at the ball fields, and called an
employee to fix the problem so that the
tournament did not lose field space. A
letter of appreciation for the outstanding
service Mr. Niemczak provided was
received from the President of Palm
Desert Baseball.
Missy Wightman Lauri Aylaian Service Above and Beyond for her
assistance with the design and
implementation of the renovation of City
Hall conference facilities. Ms.
Wightman spent evenings and
weekends having the work done when
it would be least disruptive to City staff
and operations.
