IV. NEW BUSINESS
A. YOUTH SERVICE DAY — ORAL REPORT BY PAT SCULLY
Pat Scully reported that due to liability in working with tools and materials
with chemicals, the Youth Committee's options for participating in Youth
Service Day have become somewhat limited. After extensive discussion
by Committee, consensus was that Ms. Scully check with the City's
Landscaping Department to see if there was a tree that could be planted
or something along those lines.
B. JOINT CITY COUNCIL/YOUTH COMMITTEE MEETING — ORAL
REPORT BY CHAIRMAN ELLIOTT SMITH
Chairman Smith led a discussion about the options for the format of the
upcoming Joint City Council/Youth Committee meeting.
Ms. Scully announced that due to scheduling conflicts the date has been
changed from May 2 to June 5.
Chairman Smith reminded the Committee that due to the number of
Committee members and alternates at this time it would not be possible
for everyone to make a presentation to the Council.
After extensive discussion, it was decided that the Youth Committee
would submit questions to the City Council for their response and the City
Council would be invited to present questions to the Youth Committee for
response.
Ms. Scully will send an email and reminded everyone that she will need
the questions being posed to the City Council by the May 15f meeting and
she will request the same timeframe from the City Council.
