Recommendation:
By Minute motion, that the City Council:
1. review and approve the recommendation of the Outside Agency Funding
Committee for charitable contributions in the amount of $444,500 to the agencies
listed herein with associated restrictions and conditions; and
2. authorize the Mayor to execute same.
Backaround:
At its March 30, 2007 meeting, the Outside Agency Funding Committee met to review the
requests for funding submitted by various agencies and school organizations. Following careful
consideration, the Committee recommends that the Council approve funding for the following
agencies:

1. Animal Samaritans: Funding approved on condition that funds be used for spaying and
neutering procedures.

6. Shelter from the Storm: The Committee recommends that a use survey be submitted by c 6
the agency indicating the number of Palm Desert residents serviced. The amount " 1"c

The Committee also expressed support of funding requests from Children's Discovery Museum b
the General Fund:
1. Coachella Valley Economic Partnership
2. Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce
3. Palm Desert Sister Cities Foundation
4. S.C.R.A.P. Gallery
and Eisenhower Medical Center, which will be addressed by the City Manager at a future c N
