N Dig ANT: N�z ABSTAIN: N_t VERIFIED BY: faid('G Original on File with City Clerk's Office By Minute Motion, authorize the Risk Manager to travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to attend the Professional Conference on Industrial Hygiene (PCIH), in an amount not to exceed $2,485. Funding for this Conference is available in 110-4260-422.31-20. Discussion: The Risk Manager, who is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), is required to accumulate "continuing education credits" over a five-year period to maintain his certification. This conference and the professional development courses are the last opportunity to gain the necessary education credits in the five-year cycle to maintain`wtification. The industrial hygiene certification provides the expertise involved with managing the City safety and injury prevention program, as well as such environmental concerns as asbestos and mold contamination management in RDA projects. The total travel budget for the trip is expected not to exceed $1,500 for airfare, hotel, and meals. The conference registration fee is $375 and two professional development courses are $305 each for a total of $985. Therefore, the total travel cost and conference fees are $2,485.
