C-26940 ) FOR REVISIONS TO DESERT WILLOW GOLF RESORT DAVE YRIGOYEN, DIRECTOR OF REDEVELOPMENT/HOUSING HURDZAN-FRY 1270 OLD HENDERSON RD. COLUMBUS, OH 43220 SEPTEMBER 13, 2007 CONTRACT NO. C-26940 By Minute Motion, that the City Council: 1. Authorize staff to enter into a contract with Hurdzan-Fry Golf Course Architects (Contract No. C-7694n ) to provide architectural services at the Desert Willow Golf Resort in an amount of $35,000, plus $2,500 for reimbursables; 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute said contract; and 3. Authorize the appropriation of $37,500 from Fund 241-4195-495-8092. Discussion: Staff has requested input from Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry on some issues at Desert Willow Golf Resort regarding parking and staging of golf cards and vehicles. The idea is to develop a staging area for golf carts that would accommodate tournaments, as well as daily use. In doing this, we could free up the western parking area for vehicle parking, as opposed to using it for tournament staging. Staff is reviewing the southeasterly pads at Desert Willow to determine if the current configuration is the most efficient. Currently, it is in two separate parcels. This would require a rerouting of at least one, maybe two golf holes. Staff is asking for the golf course architect's input in this endeavor. The fee to do all of this work would be Thirty Five Thousand Dollars ($35,000) plus allowable expenses. If we can do this work in conjunction and concurrent with the improvement work this should save on travel expenses.
