Ortega, City Manager Recommendation: By Minute Motion: 1. Approve a $10,000 sponsorship for the Annenberg Theater; 2. Appropriate $10,000 for the sponsorship from Account 110-4159-415-3125; 3. Determine that the sponsorship is a benefit to the City. Background: The Palm Springs Art Museum is soliciting sponsorships for an opening night benefit concert for the Annenberg Theater to raise money to fund quality programs for the Annenberg Theater for 2007/08. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, November 4, at the Annenberg Theater. The Theater is an important asset for valley cities, and strong cultural programs enhance the quality of life for all area residents. Submitted By: CARLOS L. Wilson is the founder of the Beach Boys and will attract somewhat of a different audience from last year, hopefully to include the East Valley. We have the following underwriters: Wells Fargo Foundation at $50,000; City of Palm Springs, (in addition to their $70,000 support for the Shulman exhibition) and Jackie Lee & Jim Houston at $25,000; Donna & Cargill MacMillan, Messrs Matzner/Greenburg, Stacy & Greg Renker, and the Supples at $15,000; Annette Bloch, $12,500 and Union Bank, $10,000. Center Rows for sponsors (i m • • - rom the front of the VIP orchestra seats) are priced at $25,000, $20,000, 15,000 : nd $10,000. Each row has 14 seats. Additional corporate sponsors ip packages are available at $7,500 each for 14 VIP orchestra seats to the right and left of the Center Rows. Individuals and businesses may also purchase $350 individual VIP seats and be eligible to attend the after -party in the newly renovated Art Museum with the Weiner reinstallation in the McCallum wing and the Bill Viola in the Annenberg wing. Mezzanine/performance only seats at $95 per person go on sale July 11. Thank you again, for indicating a possible interest.
