Background: Pursuant to Palm Desert Municipal Code 9.58.040, the City Council must grant permission to allow the sale and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on City owned property. The Chamber of Commerce is the applicant for the sale and/or consumption of beer, wine and/or spirits in connection with their monthly mixer on January, 21, 2009. The sale, possession, and/or consumption of these beverages will be limited to a specific area, in the interior of the Henderson Building, a City owned property located at 72559 Highway 111, Palm Desert. The City Council will grant, if passed, the sale and/or consumption of beer, wine and/or spirits, contingent on the approval of the Palm Desert Police Department, and a one-day permit issued by the Alcohol Beverage Control Board.
