REQUEST: Declaration of Surplus Property and Disposal Authorization

Contents: Exhibit "A" — Equipment Listing of assets for disposal
Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, declare the items listed on the attached exhibit "A" as surplus property and
authorize disposal.
Background:
The Palm Desert Police Department currently has (8) city owned items including Eye Witness
video units, a microphone and a camera, that were used in our police units. This inventory is
aged, damaged, broken, or outdated and of no additional use for patrol operations. Therefore,
staff is requesting that council authorize staff to dispose of the equipment as follows:
1) Items 1-8 are considered waste and shall be disposed of appropriately.
Staff recommends that the City Council declare the equipment as surplus property and authorize
staff to dispose of the equipment appropriately.
