Adopt Resolution Approving Tract Map 35426 Mark Greenwood, P.E., Director of Public Works Starwood/WVC Rancho Mirage, Inc. 8801 Vistana Centre Drive, Ste. 140 Orlando, Florida 32821 January 10, 2008 Resolution, Conditions of Approval Tentative and Final Maps, Vicinity Map Grant of Easement By Minute Motion: 1.) Waive further reading and adopt Resolution No. 08-1 , approving Final Tract Map 35426, and 2.) Authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant of Easement to WVC Rancho Mirage, Inc. Discussion: Tract Map No. 35426 is located within the Desert Willow Golf Resort and adjoins the east side of Portola Avenue. This one lot map provides for the creation of 300 new timeshare condominium units for air -space ownership. Easements to the City are provided for golf cart path, utility, and tunnel purposes to accommodate the Desert Willow Golf Course. The tentative map, precise plan and development agreement were approved by the City Council on March 22, 2007. Those conditions of approval related to the map have been satisfied. This map conforms to the requirements of the Subdivision Map Act and City ordinance and it is substantially the same as it appeared on the tentative map. An easement from Desert Willow (the City) to WVC Rancho Mirage, Inc. (Starwood) is required for wall and landscaping improvements by Starwood at their project entry on Portola Avenue. The proposed improvements do not interfere with Desert Willow operations. Approve Tract Map 35426 Page 2 of 2 January 10, 2008 Therefore, staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached resolution approving the subject map and authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant of Easement to WVC Rancho Mirage, Inc. for wall and landscape improvements and the maintenance thereof.
