Background: The Palm Desert Vacation Guide is used as a fulfillment piece for the Palm Desert Visitor Center. It is distributed to those responding to the City's advertising and requesting information about visiting Palm Desert. Approximately 25,000 copied are sent out each year. The newly designed Vacation Guide includes helpful information about all there is to see and do in Palm Desert, in addition to listing the hotels and places to stay. The fresh design compliments the new advertising campaign launched last fall. Staff advertised bids for printing of the Guide and envelope and received two responses: Ace Direct: $50,384 Papillon Graphics: $48,826 Staff is recommending that the City Council accept the quote from Papillon Graphics for printing 20,000 of the newly designed Palm Desert Vacation Guide.
