Granting Exception to Bidding Requirements as Provided for by Section 3.32.090 of the Municipal Code, for Fiscal Year 2008-09 SUBMITTED BY: Mark Greenwood, P.E., Director of Public Works DATE: June 12, 2008 CONTENTS: Vendor and Qualified Services List Recommendation: By Minute Motion, approve the use of the various vendors and qualified services on the list appended to this report. Discussion: The Public Works Maintenance Services Division utilizes a variety of vendors and services regularly. Each year, staff posts the vendor list and an invitation to be added to it. Subsequent to this posting, staff compiles a list of vendors and service providers capable of offering immediate accessibility, unique supplies, discounted pricing, or any combination of these factors. Approval of the use of these providers allows the City to save money and time, thereby providing for more efficient operations. Purchases and/or services valued at more than $25,000 will follow the standard procedure for procurement. Staff therefore requests that City Council approve the use of these vendors and services for the 2008-09 fiscal year.
