Recommendation:
By Minute Motion, appoint Melissa Allensworth from the McCallum Theatre to the
Marketing Committee to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Richard Darius
(Term 12/31/2011).
Executive Summary:
With the resignation of Mr. Darius, there is a vacancy on the Marketing Committee.
Melissa Allensworth is the Director of Business Development, Sales & Marketing of the
McCallum Theatre and has applied to be a member of the Committee. She has
attended several meetings and is a qualified candidate. Staff is recommending her
appointment for a four year term expiring on December 31, 2011.

Group, generating three new contracts. Through personal contacts and networking, forged a strong relationship
with a Venture Capital firm(San Jose,CA)that works on multiple business ventures per year. 1'his relationship has
evolved to allow Grizzard to perform market analysis, market research, strategic development and marketing
services on behalf of the VC for three separate B2B companies. Companies are expanding footprint (with
marketing assistance from Grizzard)to launch nationwide.
NegoNated software partnership program for US Data Management, generating $1.3M in new sales (in one-
year period). Company sought strategic partnerships with software providers in Life Science industry. Developed
mutually beneficial program and marketed directly to C-level soflware executives. Piggy-backed USDM consulting
services in both new sales and up-sales, leading to increased business with Tier 1/2/3 pharmaceutical and biotech
firms.
Secured $1.2M contract for ISERA, forging relationship with German Air Force. Software product had been
developed for US Navy to track pilot training and qualifications. Presented product at international tradeshows for
exposure to foreign governments and other US military agencies. German satisfaction with modifications for their
needs led to referrals to other international military agencies.
Won $1M contract for SignalCom with strategic marketing approach. Company's technology was used by
prominent technology and telecom providers including Nokia, Cisco, Microsoft and Toshiba but it wanted exposure
to more firms. Researched list of 100 prospects. Developed focused marketing plan targeting CEO/CTOs
introducing SignalCom team and capabilities. Campaign led to contract with firm for development of new
integrated circuit technology.
Modified software for new client base, reaching 70% of market in two years for Softshare. Soflware product
was used by federally funded Procurement Technical Assistance Centers to track ciients and generate government
reports. Determined applicability to Small Business Development Centers. Networked with SBDCs to determine
needs and built re(ationships to sell modified product. Annual use fee provides continued income stream.
