RECEIVE AND FILE the update on the City of Palm Desert City Council, Redevelopment Agency, and Housing Authority Strategic � Objectives. Discussion: On January 15 and January 16, 2008, the Palm Desert City Council and Executive Management Staff attended a retreat for the purpose of formulating a strategic plan. As a result of this meeting, the retreat attendees formulated the following five three-year goals (presented in no specific order): 1. Comp/ete an Indoor Recreation Center with a Pool 2. Plan, Finance and Commence Construction of Phase ll of the Westfield Center, Including High-End Stores 3. Design and Begin Construction of a Hotel at Desert Willow 4. Maintain Financial Stability 5. Be Recognized as a Leader in Energy Efficiency For each specific goal indicated above, various objectives were identified and assigned to the appropriate City staff member to complete, within a six-month period. Please find attached an updated table for each of these objectives. Until completion of these five goals, Staff will prepare an update on the status of the strategic objectives for the second City Council Meetinq of each month.
