No. 08-27RESOLUTION NO. 08-27 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM DESERT, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING UNCLAIMED MONIES IN THE CITY'S TREASURY WHEREAS, the City Treasurer/Director of finance has certified that certain monies have remained on deposit in Trust Funds for a period exceeding three years without having been claimed and are not the property of the City of Palm Desert; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Section 50050 et. Seq., California Government Code, it is proposed and declared that said monies shall become the sole property of the City of Palm Desert on June 29, 2008, unless a valid and acceptable claim is filed with the City of Palm Desert, Finance Department, 73-510 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, California 92260-2578, on or before June 29, 2008; and WHEREAS, the unclaimed monies are as follows: Account No. 610-0000-228-0100 Deposit Date Description Reference No. Amount 6/16/1999 Meyers Investment Co. TD 2532 $1,000.00 136 S. Orange Street Glendale, CA 91204 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California, that the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of unclaimed monies listing said funds in the Desert Sun newspaper once a week for two consecutive weeks. This notice shall include the name and last known address, if any, of the person(s) entitled to the monies. Said notice shall also indicate that the named person is the owner of the property in the City's possession and that he/she has two weeks from the date of the first notice (May 12, 2008) to reclaim said property. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby authorize the City Treasurer/Director of Finance to transfer any unclaimed funds to the City's General Fund after June 29, 2008.
