B. Librarian's Report (Jeannie Kays)
Ms. Kays reported that the customer count had increased by
10,000 from last year. She believed the increase was due to the
Cathedral City Library fire. She would watch the numbers to see if
they hold when the Cathedral Branch reopens. Library attendance
usually drops off in the summer, although they were not
experiencing that this year.
The Palm Desert Library was taking its team to the American
Library Association Book Cart Drill Team World Championships.
They were also hoping to be in the Golf Cart Parade again this
year. It was a good way to advertise the Library.
The Friends of the Library purchased a Nintendo Wii for the
Library.
C. Event and Volunteer Coordinator's Report (Mary Arnold)
Ms. Arnold announced that a chef's series cookbook was in the
works. The books were being pre -sold for $15.00, and 141 orders
have been received. She requested recipes for the book.
The volunteer program was growing and doing well.
