Discussion: On May 27, 2008, the City Clerk advertised and called for proposals for the monthly service of the Civic Center Lagoon and the Entrada del Paseo water feature. The contract was awarded to Southwest Aquatics, Inc. in the amount of $19,140.00. The Redevelopment Agency has recently completed the installation of a new water feature at Entrada del Paseo. This water feature needs to be added to the maintenance contract for regular monthly service. Staff contacted the maintenance vendor for the aforementioned contract, and requested a price quote for the additional work. Staff reviewed their estimate of $90 a month and found it to be consistent with the cost of services for similar water features in the current contract. Amend Contract C27820 for Water Feature Service Page 2 of 2 October 9, 2008 Therefore, staff recommends that, by Minute Motion, City Council amend Contract No. C27820 for the monthly service of the new water feature at Entrada del Paseo for the remainder of the contract term (8%2 months) by adding $765.00, bringing the contract to a grand total of$19,905.00. Fiscal Impact: Funds for this amendment are available in Budget Account 110-4614-453-3370. This amendment will result in no other additional costs to the City. The Contractor shall construct, furnish equipment and materials, and perform all work as necessary or required to complete the Change Amendment items for a lump sum price agreed upon between the Contractor and the City of Palm Desert, otherwise referred to as Owner. Contract Time Extension -0- Days Revised Contract Total $19,905.00 The undersigned Contractor approves the foregoing Contract Amendment# 1 as to the changes, if any, in the contract price specified for each item including any and all supervision costs and other miscellaneous costs relating to the change in work, and as to the extension of time allowed, if any, for completion of the entire work on account of said Contract Amendment # 1 .
