(Ord. 99 § 1 (part), 1975: E�chibit A § 2539-1) 2.20.020 Terms of office. _ The planning commission shall consist of five members to be appointed by the city council by a minimum of three affirmative votes, each of whom shall serve a term of four years, or until his successor is appointed. The terms of appointment shall be as provided for in Section 2.34.010. (Ord. 1017 § 1, 2003: Ord. 553, 1988: Ord. 390, 1984: Ord. 99 § 1 (part) 1975: Exhibit A § 25.39-1.02) 2.20.030 Meetings• __ The planning commission shall hold at least two meetings a month at such time and place as fixed by resolution. Special meetings may be called as established in the planning commission bylaws. (Ord. 99 § 1 (part), 1975: Exhibit A § 25.39-1.03) 2.20.040 Powers and duties. _ . The planning commission of the city shall have the following duties: A. Prepare, adopt and recommend to the city council a general plan for the city; B. Periodically review, adopt and recommend revisions to the city council of the general plan; C. Prepare, adopt and recommend to the city council such specific plans as may be necessary or desirable to carry out the objectives of the general plan; D. Prepare, adopt and recommend to the city council drafts of regulations as may in its judgment be required for the systematic execution of the general plan; E. Act as the advisory agency to the city council in connection with the administration of the State Map Act and Environmental Quality Act of 1970; F. Periodically review and recommend to the city council regarding the capital improvement program of the city; G. Perform such other functions as the city council may provide or as may be imposed by law. That Section 2.20.020 be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.20.020 TERMS OF OFFICE. The Planning Commission shall consist of five members, each individual member to be appointed by one member of the City Council of the City of Palm Desert, California. Each appointee shall serve a term of four years or until his successor is appointed. The terms of appointment shall be as provided in Section 2.34.010." SECTION 2. PUBLICATION. The City Clerk of the City of Palm Desert, California, is hereby directed to publish this ordinance in the Desert Sun, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Palm Desert, California, and shall be in full force and effective thirty (30) days after its adoption. Each appointee to serve a term equal to the remaining length of term of the Councilmember appointing such member. Each appointee may be removed only by the Council member appointing such member. Other than as set forth, the other terms of appointment shall be provided in Section 2.34.010." SECTION 2. PUBLICATION.
