Wohlmuth, City Manager DATE: December 21, 2009 CONTENTS: None Recommendation By Minute Motion: a. Approve the City of Palm Desert Ad Hoc Aquatics Center Steering Committee; b. Ratify Mayor Protempore Jim Ferguson's participatian and appointment; c. Assign a second Councilmember. Backqround City staff established an Ad Hoc Aquatics Center Steering Committee to coordinate, review, and possibly expedite the Palm Desert Aquatics Center. This Ad Hoc Committee meets on an as-needed basis and is comprised of: City Manager Staff from Public Works Engineering Division, Parks Division, and Inspection Staff from Building and Safety Staff from Planning and Art In Public Places Staff from RDA A COD representative A City of Palm Desert Parks and Recreation Commissioner A representative from a Palm Desert Swim Club Staff Report Ad Hoc Aquatics Center Steering Committee December 21, 2009 Page Two The Ad Hock Committee will assist with coordination regarding design issues and ultimately fees for cost recovery and make a recommendation to the City Council. The City of Palm Desert has created ad hock committees in the past to assist with coordination. One such ad hoc committee that may not now be necessary is the Entrada del EI Paseo Committee. At the Council's direction, this committee could be disbanded. Fiscal Analvsis There is no fiscal impact associated with this request. Submitted By: �� n M.
