Discussion: University Park is located south of Gerald Ford Drive between Cook Street and Portola Avenue. In 2005, Granite Construction Company and Parsam Construction, Inc., were awarded contracts to construct street improvements and walls within University Park. All work has been completed in accordance with the approved plans, and it has been inspected and found to be acceptable. Staff Report Release Maintenance Bonds for Wall and Street Improvements within University Park February 12, 2009 Page 2 of 2 Performance bonds from each of the companies were released upon completion of improvements, and maintenance bonds were submitted and accepted by Council. Granite Construction Company submitted Maintenance Bond Number 08837639 in the amount of $965,358.62, and Parsam Construction, Inc., submitted Bond Number 2064857 in the amount of$287,389.00. The one-year maintenance period is complete on March 10, 2009. Improvements have been re-inspected and found to be acceptable. Therefore, staff recommends that City Council release the maintenance bonds from Granite Construction Company and Parsam Construction, Inc., effective March 11, 2009.
