Subject: Request for Acceptance of Vacancy on Library Promotion Committee -
Lawrence J. Guzzetta. Jr. - Term December 31, 2010.
As staff liaison to the City's Library Promotion Committee, it is with great sorrow that I
report to you that we have just learned that one of our Members, Lawrence Guzzetta,
passed away this past fall. His service on the Committee, albeit short (appointed
January 2007), was very valuable and much appreciated.
Therefore, please recognize this vacancy on the Library Promotion Committee with a term
of December 31, 2010. Staff will include this vacancy in the process of reviewing all
current Committee/Commission applicants, appointments, and reappointments.

Yes it is true that Larry is no longer with us. He had pancreatic cancer and never recovered from the
surgery. There was a celebration of life in November which I attended to pay my final respect. Suzie

Ms. Suzie Adams:
I am sorry but I know of no other way to ask this question more delicately than this but I received
returned mail for Mr. Guzzetta with a hand written note "deceased no longer at this address." Mr.
Guzzetta was a member of the Palm Desert Library Promotion Committee and we do not know the
state of Mr. Guzzetta as we have not been in contact with him over these past several months.
Please let me know if this post is correct. Please also give his family my condolences if this is the
case.
Thank you for your time and consideration to this very delicate and sensitive matter.
