I. CALL TO ORDER
Committee Chair Elle Wohlmuth called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.

IV. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 3, 2008, MEETING MINUTES
Upon a motion by Vice Chair Jenna Scott and second by Member Alahna Dunbar
minutes of the November 3, 2008, meeting were approved as presented. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. COMMITTEE PARTICIPATION IN 2009 GOLF CART PARADE
Ms. Scully requested that this item be continued to the January meeting.

VI11. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
A. CITY COUNCIL ISSUES
Ms. Scully reported that the three incumbent City Council members were
re-elected on November 4 and will remain on the City Council for the next
four years as a result of the recent election.
IX. REPORTS AND REMARKS
A. COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Member Dunbar reported that she was in contact with the Palm Desert
Community Church Pre-school officials and they have requested that the
Committee paint it's picnic benches over the Christmas holiday. She will
get a date and time for this activity to take place.
Member Bryce Griffith reported that the activities that the Committee will
be responsible for at Friday's Community Wreath Lighting Ceremony are
as follows: Polaroid photographs with Santa, cookie decorating,
temporary tattoos, and a bean toss game. He passed around the sign-up
sheet to remind Committee members of their responsibilities with a
request that each plan to arrive at the Visitor Information Center no later
than 5 p.m.
Member Kate Hart requested that Ms. Scully set up a meeting between
Member Hart, Vice Chair Scott, Ms. Scully, and Deborah Schwartz to
discuss the upcoming Community display.

Member Alison McCollister reported that last month's Committee meeting at the
Middle School was cancelled. Ms. Scully added that since the Christmas party
will take place in December, the meetings will resume in January.
Member Katie Pawelczyk requested that Ms. Scully schedule a meeting with
Palm to Pines Rotary President Jim Brock, herself, and Ms. Scully to discuss the
Rotary/Youth Committee Clean-up Day. Ms. Scully requested that she come to
the Palms to Pine Rotary meeting early on December 17 to discuss this issue.
Member Jonny Rohrbaugh requested that Ms. Scully set up a meeting with
Member Rohrbaugh, Peter Rittenhouse of the Senior Center, and Ms. Scully to
discuss the upcoming game day.
Member Ryan Sheehy reported that subcommittee members are working on
individual aspects of the Teen Resource Guide. They will continue to meet and
have it ready for typing by City Staff the first of February.
Member Abby Sturgeon reported that she had several games planned for the
Christmas party at Lincoln Elementary School scheduled to be held on
December 19. She requested that all members appear no later than 3:30 p.m. in
the multi -purpose room at Lincoln Elementary School wearing their holiday
costume.
Chairwoman Wohlmuth requested that Ms. Scully set up a meeting with a
representative of Safe House of the Desert so that discussions regarding how the
Youth Committee could participate in that organization can begin.
B. STAFF
Ms. Scully distributed the thank you gifts on behalf of the City Council and
thanked members for their service in the past year.
She distributed information regarding the upcoming College of the Desert
Foundation fundraiser and Riverside County's Youth in Government Day.
X. ADJOURNMENT
Upon a motion by Vice Chair Scott and second by Member Pawelczyk the
meeting was adjourned at 6:34 p.m. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
