Funds for general fleet repair services are budgeted in General Fund Account No. 110- 4331-413-3340. Discussion: The City's fleet inventory consists of 83 vehicles ranging from small sedans to heavy- duty trucks operating on electricity, gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, diesel, or a combination of these fuels. The City's maintenance facility is neither equipped nor staffed to accomplish all necessary repairs and maintenance of these Staff Report Approve the Use of Specific Automotive Facilities for Supplement General Fleet Repairs Page 2 of 2 June 11, 2009 vehicles. The City has relied on outside service facilities to perForm repairs that are beyond our service capabilities. A vehicle repair survey has been prepared that illustrates four local repair facilities and the variety of inechanical services they provide: Hovley Automotive, Kim's Automotive, Palms to Pines Automotive, and Ozzie's Automotive. All of these facilities are in very close proximity to our maintenance services facility; however, Hovley Automotive has been selected as the primary source for fleet repair services based on their hourly rate of $75.00, and their ability to provide the necessary repairs to all of the City's fleet vehicles including the CNG alternative-fuel vehicles and some heavy construction equipment. In circumstances where Hovley Automotive cannot perform fleet repair services, an alternative source for acquiring fleet repair services is required. Ozzie's Automotive is another automotive repair service facility with the ability to provide fleet repair services similar to Hovley Automotive. Ozzie's Automotive hourly rate is $79.00. Fiscal Impact: Approval of this request may result in savings to the City in staff time and effort by avoiding delays in the procurement of general fleet repair services that cannot be accomplished by staff. VEHICLES Hovley Aatomotives' mechanics are experienced on working on al[vehicles from neighborhood electric vehicles to Ford 150/through Ford 704 to street sweepers. Aiso,we are able to service all hybrid and natural gas vehicles. QUALIFICATIONS Our mechanics' posses mastcr mechanic experience in nearly every aspect,including but not limited to, C & G Certified,A/C Certifed and hybrid and natural gas. EQUIPMENT We have the state of the art diagnostic equipment and repair tools RATES All labor rates will be guided by Alldata Information for estimated time of completion for repairs at an hourly ra#e of�75.00 per hour plus parts.
