BACKGROUND: At its meeting of April 8, 2009, the Palm Desert Public Safety Commission reviewed the 2008 Fire Department Annual report. This report was received and filed by the Commission along with a recommendation to forward same to the City Council as an informational item. Consideration of 2008 Annual Public Safety Commission Report Chairman Nethery said he felt this was a very valuable tool. Commissioner Kirkwood moved to, by Minute Motion: 1) Direct staff to forward the 2008 Annual Public Safety Commission Report to the City Council as an informational item; 2) Receive and file the report. Consideration of Fire Department 2008 Annual Report Commissioner Lebel asked that, for the 2009 Annual Report, statistics be added relative to the number of losses by dollar amount (dollars saved and lost) as well as per capita loss. Chairman Nethery said he felt this was a great report.
