Approve the Grant of Easement to SCE to allow the installation of underground electrical systems at Desert Willow to serve the Starwood Vacation Ownership project located on Portola Avenue; and 2. Authorize the Mayor to execute the easement agreement. Executive Summarv: Approval of this item will authorize the Mayor to execute a Grant of Easement to SCE for the installation of electrical systems on City property to serve the Starwood Vacation Ownership project located at Desert Willow. Staff recommends approval. Discussion: The construction of the Starwood Vacation Ownership project continues to move forward with an anticipated completion of the first phase in early 2010. In order to facilitate the installation of underground electrical and communication systems to serve the Starwood project, SCE requests approval to an easement on City property. The easement consists of a six foot wide strip of land to accommodate two, 5-inch electrical conduits. The strip of land runs west to east from Portola Avenue and terminates on Staff Report Approval of Grant of Easement to SCE for Starwood Vacation Ownership Page 2 of 2 May 7, 2009 Starwood property (see attached map). The easement will not interfere with the golf course and will be maintained by Starwood, as part of the landscape maintenance agreement between Starwood and the City approved in May of 2008.
